New NA Vice Chair elected, and new Deputy PM, Minister of Public Security approved

Senior positions have been decided by the 15th National Assembly’s on-going session on June 6.

At its on-going 7th session, the 15th National Assembly (NA) on June 6 elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh as NA Vice Chairwoman and approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Le Thanh Long as Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Luong Tam Quang as Minister of Public Security.

On the same day, the legislature also voted on a resolution approving the State President's proposal on Minister Quang's joining the National Defense and Security Council.

Ms. Nguyen Thị Thanh, born in 1967, is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, and Deputy to the 15th NA, and Head  of the 15th NA’s Delegate Affairs Committee.

Mr. Le Thanh Long, born in 1963, is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, and became Minister of Justice in 2016.

Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, born in 1965, is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, and was appointed as Deputy Minister of Public Security in 2019.
