The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has issued national technical regulations on imported scrap materials used as raw materials for production.
The newly issued circular includes: QCVN 31:2024/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on imported iron, steel, and cast iron scrap used as raw materials for production; QCVN 65:2024/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on imported glass scrap used as raw materials for production; and QCVN 66:2024/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on imported non-ferrous metal scrap used as raw materials for production.
Additionally, the Ministry has issued two more national technical regulations: QCVN 32:2024/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on environmental standards for imported plastic scrap and plastic fragments used as raw materials for production; and QCVN 33:2024/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on environmental standards for imported paper scrap used as raw materials for production.
The import of plastic scrap and plastic fragments, paper, iron, steel, cast iron scrap, glass, and non-ferrous metal scrap from abroad as raw materials for production will be subject to these new regulations, which will take effect in July 2025.
