Car sales jump 23% in 4M

Some 101,834 vehicles sold in the first four months of 2025.

Members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) sold 101,834 cars in the first four months of 2025, jumping 23% compared to the same period last year.

Of which, sales of imported vehicles increased by 35% year-on-year, while domestically assembled units soared 13%.

Passenger car sales surged 22%, commercial vehicles climbed 27%, while special-purpose vehicles skyrocketed 49%.

In April alone, 29,585 vehicles were sold, down 7% month-on-month but up 21% year-on-year. They include 20,766 passenger cars; 8,619 commercial vehicles; and 200 special-purpose vehicles.

Domestically assembled vehicles posted a reduction of 7% month-on-month with 13,890 units delivered, while imported completely built-up (CBU) vehicles saw sales dropped 7% to 15,695 units.
