The newly launched Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line (elevated section) transported over 390,000 passengers during the first week of its operation, according to Hanoi Metro Co., Ltd, which operates the line.

The 8.5-km elevated section of the metro line started commercial operation on August 8.

On its opening day, it served 37,200 passengers. Notably, on August 11 (Sunday), the number of passengers reached a record high of 115,000.

Some 200 trips were operated on daily average.

The elevated section, extending from Nhon area to Cau Giay district, consists of eight stations: Nhon, Minh Khai, Phu Dien, Cau Dien, Le Duc Tho, Vietnam National University, Ha Pagoda, and Cau Giay.

After being free for the first 15 days, a trip will cost VND8,000-12,000 ($0.3-0.5) for a ticket, depending on distance traveled.

The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station line runs 12.5 km from Nhon in Hanoi's Nam Tu Liem district via Kim Ma Street to Hanoi Railway Station in Dong Da district. Construction began in 2010 at an estimated cost of over VND34.8 trillion (nearly $1.37 billion).

The line passes through eight elevated and four underground stations.
