Hundreds of businesses and cooperatives from Gia Lai province in central Vietnam and a delegation from China's Guangxi province, gathered on August 18 for a conference aimed at promoting exports from Gia Lai to the Chinese market.
At the event, representatives from Vietnamese enterprises expressed a desire for support in understanding and adapting to China's latest policies, technical standards, and food safety regulations. They also emphasized the need for a consistent information channel to make timely adjustments to production.
On the Chinese side, many businesses stressed that Gia Lai needs to focus more on the stability of its supply sources, consistent quality, and developing deep processing capabilities to increase the value of its products.
"I want to learn more about the implementation and management of production areas in Vietnam, as well as the import-export processes," said a representative of the Beibu Gulf Investment Group from Guangxi. "To increase export volume to China, there must be clear supervision, processing, and packaging of goods."
During the conference, all parties reached a strong consensus on the need to build direct connection channels to reduce intermediaries and to promote cooperation in the logistics sector.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Hang, General Director of Vinanutrifood Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company, noted that many Vietnamese exporters have already deeply penetrated the world's most populous market and have a clear understanding of the relevant policies. She sees this as a significant advantage for developing standardized raw material zones in Gia Lai.
Currently, Gia Lai has nearly 1 million hectares of agricultural land with large-scale specialized cultivation areas. Coffee is the main crop, with over 107,000 ha producing more than 333,000 tons annually.
Other crops such as durian, pepper, cashew, rubber, banana, passion fruit, sweet potato, coconut, and chili are also cultivated on thousands to tens of thousands of hectares, meeting export standards.
The conference culminated in the signing of seven memorandums of understanding between businesses from Gia Lai and Guangxi.
