The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province in central Vietnam on August 21 held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering - Ha Nam Campus project. The significant undertaking commemorates the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The $41.6 million project will be developed on a 22.3-ha site within the Nam Cao University Zone, which is located in the former province of Ha Nam that, together with the former provinces of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh, has been merged into the new province of Ninh Binh since July 1, 2025.
According to the plan, the construction of the project's main components is scheduled to take 24 months, with the goal of completion by July 2027 to accommodate student enrollment.
Beyond training, the campus will focus on research and technology transfer, particularly in fields such as new materials, construction technology, mechanics, smart urban infrastructure, energy, and sustainable environment.
The development of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering - Ha Nam Campus is an integral part of the master plan for the Nam Cao University Zone, which covers approximately 754 ha, with 388 ha specifically designated for educational and research institutions.
This modern, centralized development model is expected to attract numerous multi-disciplinary universities, scientific research centers, and technology development hubs, creating new momentum for high-quality human resource development in the province and the broader Red River Delta region.
