The Day River overpass is one of the three projects in Ninh Binh province is set to inaugurate on August 19.

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), Ninh Binh province in northern Vietnam will inaugurate three major projects on August 19, with a combined investment of nearly VND9 trillion (approximately $343 million).

The first is a strategic transport route connecting the Nam Dinh Coastal Economic Zone with the Cau Gie–Ninh Binh Expressway.

With a total capital of VND5.3 trillion (nearly $203 million), the 46-km route runs through the former province of Nam Dinh (now part of the newly formed Ninh Binh), directly linking the coastal zone to the North–South Expressway.

The project is expected to shorten travel distances, reduce logistics costs, and unlock new opportunities in tourism, trade, and services, while also enhancing regional defense and security.

The second project is the Day River overpass, a key component of the Ninh Binh–Nam Dinh–Thai Binh–Hai Phong Expressway, valued at VND1.45 billion (over $52 million). The 2-km bridge, designed with four lanes and a speed limit of 100 km/h, will help ease congestion, shorten travel times, and strengthen logistics flows from the Red River Delta to northern seaports.

Complementing the transport infrastructure is the launch of a major industrial facility: the PepsiCo food production plant in the expanded Dong Van I Industrial Park.

Built on an 8-hectare site with an investment of VND2.13 trillion (over $81.4  million), the factory has a designed capacity of over 25,600 tons per year.

The plant is expected to support regional exports to markets such as China, Laos, and Cambodia, contributing to trade growth and the expansion of international supply chains.

The three projects are among 250 projects to be inaugurated or kicked off nationwide on August 19 to celebrate the  80th National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), as directed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
