Number of Vietnam-China border gates to increase to 26 by 2030

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision approving border gate planning along the land border between Vietnam and China in the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2050.

Under the plan, Vietnam will open or upgrade eight international border gates, nine bilateral border gates, and one special border gate during the period.

By 2030, the border will have an estimated 26 border gates, including 14 international and 12 bilateral border gates and one special border gate, located in Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, and Dien Bien provinces.

Total import and export revenue between Vietnam and China reached $105.45 billion in the first eight months of this year, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
