Thai Nguyen province in northern Vietnam currently hosts over 10,000 technology enterprises, including 227 foreign direct investment (FDI) companies. Many large corporations and businesses, such as Samsung and Masan Tungsten, have been certified as high-tech enterprises.

The province is finalizing procedures for establishing the Yen Binh Concentrated Information Technology Park and a Data Center, aiming to attract industries such as semiconductors, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and other high-tech fields.

This information was revealed during a recent working session between a delegation from the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee. The session was conducted for a survey to review the draft Law on Digital Transformation and the revised Law on High Technology.

At the working sesion, Thai Nguyen province proposed the central government to clearly define the boundaries, functions, and specific management mechanisms for the High-Tech Urban Area, ensuring no overlap with existing models of high-tech zones, industrial parks, and regular urban areas.

The province also proposed strong preferential policies regarding land, taxes, and technical and social infrastructure to attract investment. Additionally, it recommended issuing criteria for selecting construction sites based on high-tech development potential, human resources, market, and transportation and logistics infrastructure systems.

According to a report from the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Thai Nguyen has issued numerous directives and guidance documents on digital transformation in recent times.

Regarding digital infrastructure, Thai Nguyen currently has 7 telecommunications enterprises, with over 3,300 broadcasting locations and nearly 5,900 BTS (Base Transceiver Station) towers.
