State support packages of VND104 trillion ($4.5 billion) assisted 1.4 million employers and 68.6 million workers and people overcome the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Speaking at a conference on January 14 to review the ministry’s work in 2022 and sketch out tasks in 2023, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said support policies from the Party and the State have helped the labor market recover quickly, thus contributing to curbing disruptions in labor supply and production.
In 2022, the ministry sent nearly 143,000 people to work abroad, meeting 60 per cent of the annual target and triple the figure in 2021.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the ministry must perfect mechanisms and policies, thus creating a legal corridor and an open environment for people and businesses to easily access policies on labor, employment, and social security.
