Over 90% of Ho Chi Minh Highway completed

Construction of the Ho Chi Minh Highway has totaled 2,488 km, or over 90 per cent of the planned total length, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).

The project first got underway in 2000.

It passes through 30 cities and provinces, from Pac Bo in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang, which borders China, to Dat Mui in the southernmost province of Ca Mau.

It has total investment capital of an estimated VND99.2 trillion ($4.04 billion).

Construction of an additional 170 km in five sub-projects are expected to be completed in 2025, MoT has said.

These sub-projects are now being implemented and are largely on schedule.
