Petrovietnam, Vietnam's leading oil and gas group, announced strategic partnerships with KBR and GE Digital International LLC to accelerate digital transformation and develop sustainable green fuels.
The agreements were signed in New York on September 23 (local time) during a business forum attended by Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President To Lam who was there to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)’s 79th session and to hold working sessions in the US.
Petrovietnam and KBR signed an MOU to collaborate on green technologies and development of sustainable fuels, particularly Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The partnership aims to explore technical solutions, investment opportunities, and the future development of green hydrogen and green ammonia.
This strategic alliance positions Petrovietnam at the forefront of energy transition by providing access to cutting-edge technologies and technical solutions for carbon reduction.
Petrovietnam also entered into an MOU with GE Digital International LLC to develop digital transformation solutions for the electricity and oil and gas sectors. This collaboration has been built upon the successful history of previous projects between the two companies, including the Nhon Trach 1, Nhon Trach 3&4, Song Hau 1, Long Phu 1, and Vung Ang power plants.
GE Digital, with its global reach and expertise, will bring advanced technology and best practices to Petrovietnam, helping the latter seize new opportunities in the global energy transition.
Additionally, Petrovietnam's subsidiary, PTSC, signed a cooperation agreement with Excelerate Energy in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.
