The Vietnam Sustainable Urban Development Forum 2022, with the theme “Developing sustainable, green and smart urban areas with climate change adaptation, and disease and natural disaster prevention”, was co-organized by the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the Ministry of Construction (MoC), and other relevant agencies in Hanoi on June 16 and 17.

The forum featured a high-ranking session and four seminars focusing on developing urban areas and smart urban chains connecting the local market and the global market. The seminars also put proposals on the table on developing new urban models and speeding up the transition to an urban economy.

One of the highlights of the forum was a seminar entitled “Developing new urban models and boosting the transition to a green and sustainable urban economy”, which was chaired by Dr Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission. The seminar gathered over 1,500 participants, including local and foreign experts and scientists, State leaders, and enterprises.

At the seminar, numerous useful and practical ideas were presented by Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Mau, CEO of the Phuc Khang Corporation and Vice President of the Association of Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs (AYVE), with the aim of contributing to developing new urban models and promoting the transition to a green and sustainable urban economy.

During its 13 years of establishment, the Phuc Khang Corporation has become Vietnam’s leading property developer of world-class green works. Its green building projects show a strong desire for a new high. They meet LEED standards from US and LOTUS standards from Vietnam, and include Diamond Lotus Riverside and Vietnam Lotus Village.

The high-end Diamond Lotus Riverside apartment building in District 8, HCMC, was built based on LEED standards set by the US and the LOTUS standards from Vietnam. The facility, with a construction density of 19 per cent, offers a convenient, cozy, and eco-friendly living environment to residents.

Diamond Lotus Riverside helps save 44 per cent of energy costs and 35 per cent of water costs and features an airy space with natural light, she explained.

To develop urban areas in a sustainable and green style, it is necessary to gain experience from developed countries such as Japan, the US, and Singapore, and establish close cooperation between State agencies and enterprises, primarily leading housing developers such as the Phuc Khang Corporation.

Since the first day of its establishment, the Phuc Khang Corporation has lived up to its mission of acting as a pioneer in building a better lifestyle and living environment for the community according to global green standards. All of its projects embrace traditional humane values, which are a solid foundation for the best service to customers and society.
