Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh instructed the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) to lead research and investment in new areas of the chemical industry in line with global trends in development of future industries, particularly those relating to modern technology such as semiconductor, batteries and energy storage, the Government News has reported.
Addressing a ceremony held in Hanoi on August 22 to mark the 55th anniversary of the chemical industry’s traditional day (August 19, 1969 –2024), PM Chinh noted that the Party and State acknowledge and prioritise the important role of the chemical industry.
He asked the group to continue to build high-quality workforce, modernize management toward smart governance, boost digital transformation and actively participate in both domestic and global supply chains
In 2023, the group’s revenue exceeded VND57 trillion ($2.27 billion), with profits reaching nearly VND3.3 trillion ($131 million).
