Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed northern Hai Duong province to boost the industrialization of its agricultural production, create professional cooperatives, and boost coordination with and support for farmers, while visiting agricultural production models in the province on February 15.

It is necessary to apply science and technology and invest in infrastructure during this process to reduce logistics costs, he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Hai Duong boasts potential and strengths in agriculture, particularly farming, and he urged it to focus on transforming and developing key crops with high economic value.

He hopes that Hai Duong will continue to step up mechanization across all agricultural production stages, new rural development, and national target programs, towards transforming into a hub of ecological and modern rural areas with a cultured farming community.

The province posted total agriculture, forestry, and fisheries production value of over VND22.5 trillion ($937 million) in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 4.08 per cent.
