Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked central Quang Ngai province to focus on promoting the development of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) at a working session with provincial authorities on January 1.

He instructed the province to prioritize the manufacturing and processing sector, high technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The province must speed up the transition of its economic structure in association with renovation of the growth model based on science and technology and innovation to create a breakthrough in productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness in its industrial sector, thus joining international supply and value chains more deeply.

Quang Ngai should promote the synchronous development of its infrastructure network, especially transport infrastructure, and enhance the efficiency of its economic zone and industrial parks, he said.

He also asked the province to improve the competitiveness of its tourism sector and boost the development of logistics, banking and finance, and IT sectors.

Quang Ngai province completed and surpassed all 25 socio-economic targets in 2022, with gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 8.08 per cent. Export revenue topped $2.15 billion while State budget collections rose 44.7 per cent.
