Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has agreed to kick off construction of certain expressway and ring road projects this month following a proposal from the Ministry of Transport.
Under the Prime Minister’s decision, construction of four sub-projects in the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway will get underway on June 17.
Construction of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressways and Ring Road No. 3 in Ho Chi Minh City will begin on June 18.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway has a total length of 189.48 km and crosses through the four localities of An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang in the Mekong Delta. It consists of four sub-projects, with total investment estimated at nearly VND44.7 trillion ($1.88 billion).
The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, meanwhile, is 117.5 km long, crossing through south-central Khanh Hoa province and the central highlands’ Dak Lak province. Total investment is nearly VND22 trillion ($928 million).
And the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway stretches 53.7 km, connecting southern Dong Nai province with southern Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Total investment is estimated at over VND17.8 trillion ($751 million).
Ring Road No. 4 in Ho Chi Minh City has a total length of 76.34 km and crosses through the city and Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces. Total investment is over VND75.37 trillion ($3.18 billion).
