Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to speed up digital transformation and administrative reform and improve the business and investment environment as part of its key tasks in 2024.
He asked the ministry to promote innovation, startups, and business development and to attract foreign investment and other external resources in an address to a ministry conference held in Hanoi on January 11.
The ministry was instructed to closely coordinate with other relevant ministries and sectors in managing the macro-economy, complete measures and policies to effectively and thoroughly implement three breakthroughs (mechanisms, infrastructure, and human resources), and mobilize resources for national development.
The Prime Minister also instructed MPI to effectively restructure the economy in connection with renewing the growth model and to promote new economic models such as semiconductors, the circular economy, the sharing economy, renewable energy, green transition, and digital transformation.
