At a conference on September 12 held to continue seeking measures to ensure macro-economic stability, control inflation, promote growth, and ensure major balances in the economy in the current circumstances, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam has maintained macro-economic stability and seen high growth and low inflation in recent times.

This is thanks to the country’s management, with a great deal of experience accumulated through shocks to the global economy, as well as the strict implementation of guidelines from the Party and policies and laws from the State.

He also said it was due to the supervision and companionship of the National Assembly, the efforts and administration of the government, ministries, branches, and localities, the involvement of the entire political system, and the support of the Vietnamese people and businesses and international friends.

Delegates at the conference agreed that the global situation continues to fluctuate, is difficult to predict, and has a profound impact on each country, including Vietnam. With difficulties and challenges, however, come opportunities and advantages.

The Prime Minister identified key groups of tasks and solutions for economic development, and asked ministries, branches, and localities to actively focus on implementing these in line with their assigned functions.

These include accelerating economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation and technological innovation, promoting digital transformation, developing the digital economy, the green economy, the circular economy, climate change adaptation, and energy transition, and attracting foreign investment in these fields. The Prime Minister also called for the continuation of revisions and appropriate cuts to taxes, fees, and charges.
