During phone talks on March 18 with his Algerian counterpart Sifi Ghrieb, PM Pham Minh Chinh called on Algeria to support Vietnam’s energy security by ensuring stable supplies of crude oil and natural gas amid global disruptions.

The Vietnamese PM proposed Vietnam and Algeria to finalise an action plan to implement their Strategic Partnership framework, with a focus on key sectors such as investment, oil and gas production and refining, and trade.

He also proposed closer coordination to effectively implement cooperation agreements between Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation and Algeria’s national oil company Sonatrach.

Algerian PM Ghrieb affirmed Algeria’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and pledged continued support to help Vietnam maintain its energy security.
