Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked for the acceleration of national key transport projects to boost disbursement of public investment capital and promote growth while chairing the 14th meeting of the State steering committee for national key transport projects in Hanoi on September 17.
He stressed the need to achieve the target of 3,000 km of expressways by 2025 and 5,000 km by 2050 as set by the 13th National Party Congress.
PM Chinh requested localities to coordinate with investors to build plans on site clearance, handle issues related to procedures for common construction material mines and remove related difficulties and obstacles to speed up construction of projects, particularly expressways that are scheduled for completion in 2025.
He assigned the Ministry of Transport to continue directing investors and contractors to coordinate with localities to boost the construction of expressways to complete them as scheduled.
Currently, 40 national key transport projects are underway nationwide, comprising 92 components that span road, rail, and air transport in 48 provinces and centrally-run cities.
