PM seeks faster construction of expressways in Mekong Delta

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to tackle difficulties and accelerate the construction of eight expressways in the Mekong Delta in order to open them to traffic by 2026, according to the Office of the Government.

This is part of a report on the Prime Minister’s conclusions from a recent meeting to remove difficulties and promote expressway projects as well as implement ODA capital in the Mekong Delta, which has just been released by the Office of the Government.

All of these projects are being implemented and are expected to be completed by 2025 and open to traffic by 2026.

Total investment is estimated at VND94.4 trillion ($3.98 billion).

The expressways have a total length of 463 km. Once completed, they will increase the total length of expressways in the region to 554 km.
