PM seeks prompt completion of Land Law amendments

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the natural resources and environment sector to continue completing policies and laws to mobilize, manage, and effectively use natural resources for socio-economic development, in particular completing draft amendments to the Land Law.

Addressing a conference on December 31 to review the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s performance in 2023 and its tasks in 2024, Prime Minister Chinh also instructed the ministry to remove cumbersome and unnecessary administrative procedures hindering development and creating inconvenience among the citizenry.

It is also necessary to adopt measures to tackle difficulties and obstacles in managing and using natural resources more effectively and to continue implementing the Law on Environmental Protection and enhancing inspections and supervision and strictly handling violations.

The government leader also required that the sector attract diverse investment for developing environmental infrastructure and treating and recycling waste and wastewater using modern technology.

He instructed the sector to carry out the action plan to fulfill the country’s political commitments with partners to support its just energy transition, developing industries based on ecosystems, and deploying adaptive models to bolster resilience and minimize losses caused by climate change.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the need to promote digital transformation and green transition, and to pool resources to establish databases on land, the environment, and minerals, connected to the national population database.
