Startups and innovation are always important driving forces and resources for the development of a country, especially during Industry 4.0, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has said.

Addressing the National Innovative Entrepreneurship Day 2022 (Techfest Vietnam 2022) in the southern province of Binh Duong on December 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked local innovative startups to work harder to become “unicorns” in the region and the world.

The Party and the State advocate stepping up the growth model based on scientific-technological applications and innovations in order to raise productivity, quality, and competitiveness in the national economy, he said.

The State has directed, coordinated, and devised institutions and policies and created a favorable environment for innovative startups, he affirmed.

He also expressed a hope that through Techfest, managers, investors, scientists, innovative startups, and localities will gain valuable experience to further support the domestic ecosystem, and he also called for more contributions to it.

Techfest Vietnam 2022 sought solutions for sectors greatly affected by Covid-19 and holding potential, such as healthcare, education, and energy.

Held annually since 2015, Techfest Vietnam aims to promote innovative solutions from startups in the age of rapidly developing technology, and to attract experts, intellectuals, domestic entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese to develop the economy.

With the theme “Open Innovation Ecosystem - The Next Big Think”, this year’s edition took place from December 2 to 4.
