Vietnam welcomes Chinese businesses to expand their high-quality investment in the country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping at their meeting in Beijing on June 27, according to the Government online newspaper.
The Prime Minister suggested that Vietnam and China enhance the quality of their cooperation across spheres, particularly in economy, trade, and investment.
He proposed that China accelerate opening its market to Vietnamese agricultural products, create the conditions for the country to open more trade promotion offices in China, and give more quotas to Vietnamese goods in transit to a third country on China’s railway network.
He also asked China to consider cooperation in developing a high-speed railway connecting the two countries.
President Xi committed that China is willing to work together with Vietnam in maintaining strategic exchanges, promoting all-level exchanges, expanding the importation of Vietnamese goods, and enhancing rail, road, and border gate infrastructure connectivity.
