Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the construction site of the local east-west road in northern Ninh Binh province on May 28, the Government News has reported.

The east-west road is the largest inter-regional transport project ever in the province and has strategic importance in creating new development spaces for the province.

The 60-km road will help connect expressways, national highways, provincial roads, tourism sites, industrial parks and industrial clusters of the province and the region.

The first phase of the project will build a 23-km road with an estimated investment capital of over VND1.91 trillion ($75 million). Of which, VND500 billion ($19.6 million) will be mobilized from the State budget and the rest from the provincial budget.

The project has basically completed land clearance and major components. It is expected for completion by the end of 2024, two years ahead of schedule.

The same day, PM Chinh visited the vegetable processing facility of the Dong Giao Foodstuff Export JSC (Doveco) in Tam Diep city and met with the company's management and workers.
