Vietnam has set a target of having all press agencies publishing their content on digital platforms by 2030 under a strategy for digital transformation in journalism by 2025 with a vision to 2030.
The strategy has been approved by the government.
Around 90 per cent of press agencies will use concentrated data analytic and processing platforms and apply artificial intelligence to optimize operations.
The strategy also aims to have all press agencies operate in a converged newsroom model and others to match scientific and technological developments around the world.
Press agencies are expected to optimize revenue sources, with half raising revenue by at least 20 per cent.
Under the strategy, digital transformation in journalism aims to build professional, humane, and modern press agencies that firmly safeguard information sovereignty in cyberspace, create new revenue sources, and boost the development of the digital content industry.
