Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has appointed Mr. Le Hoai Trung, former Chairman of the Office of the Party Central Committee, as acting Foreign Minister, according to a report from the Government News.

Mr. Trung, aged 64, began his career at the Department of General Political Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in October 1982.

He was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister in December 2010.

In January 2016, he was elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He was elected to the Party Central Committee's Secretariat in October 2023 and appointed Chairman of the Office of the Party Central Committee in February 2025.
