Project to move to low-carbon economy gets underway

A project aimed at accelerating efforts to establish Vietnam’s low-carbon, circular economy through cleantech innovation towards sustainable development has been launched, according to a report from the Government News.

The project is being jointly developed by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Investment of over $11 million is to come from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the government, and partners.

It targets promoting the application of clean technology and innovative solutions for a low-carbon, circular economy, to realize sustainable and inclusive development in priority sectors and integrate renewable energy, energy efficiency, and waste management.
