With the recovery of purchasing power together with promotional policies, the domestic market is expected to support growth in the economy over the remaining months of the year.

Departments of Industry and Trade in many localities have proactively organized trade promotion programs to ensure goods supply while helping businesses gain access to modern retail distribution channels.

Ho Chi Minh City saw positive signs in August, with total retail sales of goods and services reaching over VND106 trillion ($4.41 billion), a year-on-year rise of 11 per cent. To boost consumption further and promote revenue growth, enterprises will continue to implement different promotional programs.

Operations Director at Co.opmart Nguyen Ngoc Thang said promotional programs will give consumers the opportunity to afford high-quality Vietnamese products.

The total retail sale of goods and services in the first eight months of this year is expected at VND4,043.9 trillion ($166 billion), up 10 per cent year-on-year, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.
