The Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee has decided to set up a taskforce to tackle the difficulties and obstacles facing businesses and investors in the central province.

It will be led by Chairman of the People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh.

The taskforce will review and adopt measures to remove the difficulties and obstacles businesses, investors, and investment projects are facing and report to local authorities.

It will also supervise the handling of these difficulties by relevant departments and agencies.

Chairman Thanh said the province’s economy has gradually recovered after Covid-19 but there remain many difficulties and challenges. Helping businesses overcome the issues is an urgent task, he added.

As of April, 54 businesses in the province had been dissolved and 631 had registered for a temporary suspension of operations.

Industrial production and construction activities in the first quarter were down 27.4 per cent year-on-year.
