Northern Quang Ninh province broke ground at four key projects on October 24.

With total investment of $12 billion, the projects express the province’s efforts in reaching the “dual goals” and will create momentum for development.

Project implementation is also a step towards realizing the content of a Resolution from Quang Ninh’s 15th Provincial Party Congress and its 2021 work theme, and shows its aspiration to move up in socio-economic development, especially in the context of Covid-19.

The four key projects are the Ha Long Xanh urban area, the 27-hole Dong Trieu golf course, the Quang Ninh LNG power plant, and the Van Ninh general port (phase 1).

The Ha Long Xanh urban area is invested in by Vingroup, with total investment estimated at VND232.269 trillion ($10.21 billion). The project is expected to become a super complex that provides a comfortable life to residents.

The Silk Path Golf Course Joint Stock Company will invest VND1.277 trillion ($56.11 million) in the Dong Trieu golf course. The project has a total area of nearly 130 ha and is expected to come into operation in the third quarter of 2024.

A joint venture involving PV Power, Colavi, Tokyo Gas, and Marubeni will take charge of the Quang Ninh LNG power plant project. Total investment is estimated at VND47.48 trillion ($2.09 billion) and the plant is to come into operation in 2026-2027.

The Van Ninh general port (phase 1) is located in Van Ninh commune in Mong Cai city, and has total investment of VND2.248 trillion ($98.84 million) on 82.79 ha, including 46.55 ha of land and 36.24 ha of water surface area.
