Northern Quang Ninh province led Vietnam in FDI attraction in 2023, receiving total investment capital of over $3 billion, 3.1-fold higher than the annual target, according to the latest report from the province’s Statistics Office.
The province posted economic growth of 11.03 per cent last year, marking the ninth consecutive year it has registered double-digit growth.
Its economic scale reached over VND315 trillion ($13.1 billion).
If it maintains such levels of growth, its economic scale is estimated to hit VND600 trillion ($25 billion) within the next five years.
Provincial authorities have set a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth target of 10.9 per cent this year.
Import and export revenue is anticipated to be $3.48 billion.
Quang Ninh expects to welcome 17 million tourists in 2024, including 3 million foreign visitors, with tourism revenue predicted to stand at VND39.5 trillion ($1.64 billion).
