The People's Committee of Quang Tri province in central Vietnam has submitted a proposal to the Provincial People's Council for a medium-term public investment plan, earmarking over VND40.3 trillion (over $1.53 billion) for the 2026-2030 period.
This proposed investment, to be sourced from the central government budget, is more than 2.5 times the amount allocated in the previous period and includes over VND36.6 trillion (nearly $1.4 billion) from domestic capital and over VND3.6 trillion ($137 million) from foreign Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The fund will be prioritized for crucial, strategic projects aimed at developing a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system, creating a solid foundation for the province's rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.According to the proposed allocation, the province's Department of Construction is slated to receive the largest share with' over VND11.5 trillion, focusing on urban infrastructure, transport, irrigation, and other key construction projects.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province will be allocated over VND3.2 trillion for initiatives related to environmental protection, green agriculture, disaster prevention, and climate change adaptation.
The Department of Education and Training is expected to receive over VND1.8 trillion to upgrade school facilities in support of the new national education curriculum.
The health sector is allocated over VND1 trillion for constructing and renovating hospitals, improving medical centers, and procuring modern medical equipment.
Similarly, the Department of Science and Technology is earmarked VND1 trillion to invest in infrastructure for research, scientific application, and innovation.
