Central Quang Tri province’s authorities have requested investor, project management board and relevant agencies to accelerate the construction of the coastal road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor in the province.
The 48-km road, approved by the provincial People’s Committee, has an estimated investment capital of over VND2 trillion ($79.8 million).
The project is scheduled for implementation in the 2021-2026 period.
It consists of four contract packages, crossing Vinh Linh, Gio Linh and Trieu Phong districts and Dong Ha city.
Construction of the project has progressed slowly due to some difficulties, particularly those relating to site clearance and building of resettlement areas.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung requested relevant departments and agencies of the province to actively take measures to tackle difficulties facing the project and strive to complete and put the project into operation by 2025.
