Vietnam’s cyber security sector posted revenue of VND892 billion ($37.6 million) in the second quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 per cent, figures from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) show.
According to the ministry, there were 107 cyber security enterprises operating in the industry during the period, up 9.2 per cent year-on-year and employing 3,600 people.
The ministry also reported that nearly 2,000 cyber attacks had been recorded in the second quarter, down 32.8 per cent year-on-year.
The MoIC issued an action plan in the second quarter to implement the national strategy on cyber security and safety in order to be proactive in coping with cyber challenges by 2025 with a vision towards 2030.
