Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh said the Commission will review regulations and propose measures to tackle difficulties facing the oil and gas industry in developing offshore wind power.
He made the suggestion at a working session with authorities in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on April 6 to review the implementation of the Politburo’s resolution on orientations for the oil and gas sector development strategy.
The implementation of the resolution would not only help Ba Ria-Vung Tau become a growth powerhouse and a center of the energy industry in terms of oil and gas but also wind power and other renewables in the future, he said.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Mai Ngoc Thuan said the resolution has created a sufficient, efficient, and effective legal corridor to help with State management activities, energy security, socio-economic development, and people’s daily life and livelihoods.
The province has posted encouraging results in its efforts towards reaching the resolution’s targets, including in petroleum exploration and exploitation, oil and gas processing, and power generation, he said.
Participants at the meeting also discussed issues relating to orientations and the development strategy for the oil and gas sector.
