Road maintenance funds for 2023 to be $493mln

Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has proposed funds be set aside for road maintenance in 2023.

The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has submitted to the Ministry of Transport a road maintenance plan for 2023 with total funding of nearly VND12 trillion ($493 million).

Funds for 2022 were nearly VND10.5 trillion ($431 million).

The Directorate reported that 77 per cent of the 2022 funds was disbursed as of November 15 and it targets disbursing all by the end of the year, as planned.

It has adjusted contracts and the progress of projects needing periodic repairs, directed and urged project investors to accelerate repairs, and strengthened quality management to ensure disbursement as planned.

In terms of infrastructure construction, the Directorate focuses on speeding up investment preparation for three projects - two construction projects and one on information technology.
