The Ministry of Transport has permitted the trial use of sand for leveling in a bid to speed up the construction of the Hau Giang - Ca Mau Expressway in the Mekong Delta.
Four expressway projects in the Mekong Delta will use sand for leveling in the 2021-2025 period, including the Can Tho - Hau Giang, Hau Giang - Ca Mau, Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang, and My An - Cao Lanh Expressways.
The four projects will need an estimated 47 million cu m of sand, according to the ministry’s Construction Investment Management Department.
At a recent working visit with Mekong Delta localities, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the four expressways are key national projects.
