Seafood exports hit $8.33 bln in 10M

Shrimp, tra fish and tuna are among key export products.

Seafood export revenue hit $8.33 billion in the first ten months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 12%, figures from the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) show.

In October, overseas shipment of aquaculture totaled over $1 billion, up 28% year-on-year. This is the first time after 27 months (since June 2022), aquaculture sector’s monthly export turnover surpassed $1 billion.

In the ten-month period, shrimp export contributed $3.2 billion, surging 13% year-on-year.

Export of tra fish was estimated at $1.7 billion, up 9% against the same period last year. The VASEP forecasted that tra fish export value is likely to exceed $2 billion this year following increase of orders for the year-end festive season.

Tuna export also recorded significant growth of 18% year-on-year to reach $821 million. The whole year export turnover is estimated at $1 billion.
