The My Thuan Bridge 2 project in the Mekong Delta saw its main segments connected on October 14, in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Government News has reported.
The bridge connects Tien Giang and Vinh Long provinces and is parallel to the existing My Thuan Bridge.
It runs from the An Thai Trung intersection along the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway in Cai Be district in Tien Giang to the intersection with National Highway No. 80 in nearby Vinh Long, the starting point of the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway.
The main bridge and approach roads have a total length of 6.61 km.
With a length of 1.9 km, the main bridge has six lanes and a speed limit of 80 kph.
Total investment is estimated at VND5 trillion ($210 million).
Construction of the bridge, which is part of the North - South Expressway project, began in March 2020.
