Siemens showcased a diverse array of innovative and AI-powered products and solutions at the Vietnam Industrial & Manufacturing Fair (VIMF 2024), held in southern Binh Duong province from June 19-21, that empowers industry players in the food and beverages and electronics sectors to accelerate digital transformation, sharpen their competitive edge, and become more sustainable.
According to Mr. Tran The Hien, Head of Siemens Vietnam Digital Industries, the industrial and manufacturing sector is the bedrock of Vietnam’s economic prosperity. In recent years, this sector has emerged as a significant contributor to the country’s GDP, accounting for an impressive 33-35 per cent in 2022.
“The food and beverages and electronics industries stand out in this landscape, with remarkable growth and potential,” said Mr. Hien, noting that in this dynamic environment, Siemens has been a strong and unwavering supporter.
Among the solutions showcased were ROBITSI - Delta Picker. Developed with local original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Idea Tech, ROBITSI is a delta robot that can pick and place products from one running belt to another with great speed and efficiency. It is a Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal-based solution, which integrates Programable Logic Controller (PLC), the Advanced Motion Control library, Industrial Edge, and the Robot Control Suite. The solution is set to revolutionize the way OEMs engineer their processes, optimize manufacturing, and expedite market entry.
Siemens also showed how, by combining the real and digital worlds, Virtual Commissioning leads to faster commissioning with reduced cost and risk. The combined power of the SIMATIC Machine Simulator and NX Mechatronics Concept Designer allows engineers to create a Digital Twin of a physical machine, enabling virtual testing and optimization of systems before deployment, thus accelerating time-to-market, boosting quality, and enhancing safety.
In an increasingly complex industry with more cybersecurity dangers, the ability to detect threats at an early stage will increase security and availability of industrial systems. Siemens’ AI-powered Industrial Anomaly Detection system offers transparency over assets and data exchange within industrial networks, and bolsters security by proactively identifying system anomalies and threats.
“For the burgeoning electronics industry, Siemens brings to the table cutting-edge industrial software and technologies,” Mr. Hien added. “These solutions are designed to enhance productivity and efficiency, and expedite time-to-market, giving businesses a competitive edge. In the food and beverages industry, Siemens is revolutionizing operations with our digitalization and automation solutions. These innovations are paving the way for greater sustainability and business success. They enable the industry to swiftly respond to individual customer requests without compromising on quality; a critical factor in a competitive market like Vietnam.”
