The Sioux Technologies group from the Netherlands, one of the world's leading corporations in semiconductor research and development, has committed to support central Da Nang city to further develop this new industry.
At a working session with Da Nang authorities during a visit to the city on August 13, Mr. Hans Duister, founder and CEO of Sioux Technologies, noted that Da Nang has many strengths and opportunities to develop semiconductor chip and software.
Da Nang needs to pay attention to connecting with manufacturers that have operated in the field of semiconductor chip for many years as well as creating an ecosystem of firms producing high-tech equipment in the city, according to Mr. Duister.
The city also needs to develop policies to attract experts in semiconductor chip to come to Da Nang to work, he suggested.
The group is willing to share experience to help Da Nang calls for investment funds to help raise the city’s position in the supply chain, as well as introduce experts from the Netherlands and encourage firms to do research or work with Da Nang hi-tech zone or incubations of the city to gradually expand operation in Vietnam, he added.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee said Da Nang is one of the country’s leading localities in innovation. However, the city is still in need of advice and support from large organizations and corporations, including Sioux Technologies, to turn ideas into products, to have resources to raise ideas, and to encourage investors coming to the city.
Sioux Technologies has more than 1,200 engineers working in 13 offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Rumania, China, Vietnam and Singapore.
Sioux HTS was established in Da Nang in 2012, the first office of Sioux Technologies in Asia. It specializes in developing websites, and web, desktop and mobile-based applications.
