Southern Dong Nai province has completed site clearance for the construction of the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport project in Long Thanh district.

The district has handed over cleared ground of 5,000 ha for the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) – the investor of the project.

Long Thanh International Airport has total investment of an estimated VND336.63 trillion ($14.6 billion), with construction divided into three phases.

In the first phase, a runway and one passenger terminal along with other supporting facilities will be built to serve 25 million passengers and handle 1.2 million tons of cargo each year.

The project began in 2021. Once fully completed by 2050, the airport will be able to serve 100 million passengers and handle 5 million tons of cargo annually.
