Site clearance for the construction of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway section in central Quang Tri province has reached nearly 87 per cent, according to local authorities.

Part of the Eastern North-South Expressway being built in the 2021-2025 period, the section has a total length of 65.7 km and links Quang Tri with neighboring Quang Binh province. The section in Quang Tri is 32.53 km long.

Total investment in the section is estimated at VND9.9 trillion ($404 million).

Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung inspected the construction site on February 15, and asked contractors and relevant agencies to urgently accelerate site clearance tasks to ensure project progress.

They were also asked to boost the construction of technical infrastructure in resettlement areas.
