Energy and environmental solutions provider from South Korea - SK Ecoplant will invest in developing waste treatment solutions in some southern localities of Vietnam, the Tin Tuc (News) online newspaper has reported.

The company on June 10 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation from South Korea and Bamboo Capital Group Energy of Vietnam (BCG Energy) to develop a waste-to-power project and waste treatment solutions in the Mekong Delta's Long An and Kien Giang provinces.

Under the agreement, they will invest in building waste treatment solutions, including recycling, waste classification, and waste treatment at landfills.

They will also build a waste-to-energy factory and another project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in some southern localities.

In March 2024, SK Ecoplant signed an MoU with BCG Energy to jointly develop renewable power projects with a total capacity of 700MW in Vietnam.
