In the renovation and urban development plan of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2021-2025 period, the city’s Department of Construction has set a target of relocating 6,500 houses on and along canals, at a total estimated investment cost of VND19.2 trillion ($840 million), of which VND9 trillion ($397 million) is expected to be used to relocate households living on and along the south bank of Kenh Doi in District 8.

A campaign to vaccinate children against Covid-19 will get underway nationwide in November, using the Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech in the US.

As of October 25, social security agencies had provided financial support from the unemployment insurance fund to more than 5 million employees, totaling more than VND12.3 trillion ($542.45 million).

But according to the city’s Center for Manpower Forecasting and Labor Market Information, demand for staff in the fourth quarter will see positive changes after the long period of social distancing.
