South-central Binh Dinh province plans to build Phu My port which will cover an area of over 1,400 ha and be able to accommodate vessels with capacity of up to 150,000 tons.

The Phu My port is one among nine port projects that the provincial People’s Committee is calling for investment during the 2023-2025 period.

According to the plan, the Phu My port will serve as a functional area, including transport infrastructure and seaports. It is closely linked with Phu My concentrated industrial park, helping to increase investment attraction for the IP.

By 2030, the Phu My port is expected to have two specialized terminals for new energy like green hydrogen and green ammonium products.  There is also one terminal for receiving petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, liquefied natural gas (LNG), jet fuel, and refined oil products.

Additionally, there is one general cargo terminal capable of handling ships with a capacity ranging between 70,000 to 100,000 tons, and five terminals for loading and unloading various types of goods.

Upon its completion, the project is estimated to handle 2.6 million tons of cargo annually.
