Site clearance of the Hanoi section of the Ring Road No. 4 in the Hanoi capital region, is expected to complete this year, according to the Hanoi Management Board of Transport Project Investment and Construction.

The site clearance of the section crossing Hanoi reached over 98% by the end of October, the board has reported.

The Ring Road No.4 has a total length of 112.8 km, running through Hanoi and its two neighboring provinces of Hung Yen and Bac Ninh,  and covers a combined 1,341 ha,  with total cost estimated at over VND85.8 trillion ($3.6 billion).

Site clearance in Hung Yen and Bac Ninh fulfilled over 95% and 97%, respectively.

The project is scheduled for completion by 2026 and to open to traffic by 2027.

In the initial period, the link will have four lanes with a roadbed width of 17 meters, allowing a maximum speed of 100 kph. It will have six lanes upon full completion.

Once opened to traffic, the project is expected to improve connectivity between Hanoi and northern provinces and support socio-economic development in the entire northern region, with Hanoi being the main driver of growth.
