Sun PhuQuoc Airways has announced that it will officially open ticket sales for its direct route between Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Van Don (VDO), starting May 5, 2026, with passenger services scheduled to begin in mid-June.
Accordingly, the airline will operate the direct HCMC – Van Don service with a frequency of four flights per week.
Specifically, the route is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 15, 2026, with flights operating every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Flights are scheduled to depart from HCM City at 3:30 pm and land in Van Don at 5:30 pm. The return leg will take off from Van Don at 6:10 pm and arrive in HCM City at 8:30 pm.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways emphasised that the establishment of the SGN-VDO direct route will help passengers save significant travel time by eliminating the reliance on traditional transit points.
The route is also designed to serve as a strategic trade bridge, creating opportunities to connect supply chains, commerce, and tourism between the two major economic regions. It is expected to act as a powerful lever to attract domestic tourists from the South to Quang Ninh Province.
Van Don International Airport is a vital strategic infrastructure in the Northeast and serves as a modern gateway to Quang Ninh’s world-renowned heritage sites and landmarks, including Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, as well as the island tourism clusters of Quan Lan, Minh Chau, and Co To. In 2026, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 22 million visitors (including 5.2 million international tourists).
In the opposite direction, the route will provide convenient access for residents of Quang Ninh and neighboring areas to the country’s largest economic hub, facilitating investment opportunities and corporate exchanges.
